Makati Hope Christian School, a private and non-sectarian educational institution, was established in 1985. In addition to the curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education, it offers Chinese Language Arts, Computer Courses, Accounting and Bible subjects. It was in 1985 that the Lord put the burden to Mr. Roxas to open a school in the vicinity of Makati with the purpose of evangelism. With God’s leading, and the help of mentors like Principal Sheila Cartagena Guico, Ms Carmelita Miranda, and Mrs. Leila Rodulfa, Makati Hope grew amidst surmounted odds and obstacles. God’s presence is felt as He himself is leading every steps towards a bright future year after year.
The school started operation with 25 kindergarten pupils and five school personnel in 1985. As of current school year, the student population has tremendously increased to more than 800 and the highly competent and dedicated school personnel has reached more than a hundred. We even have a hundred foreign students from 10 different nationalities. Our family is indeed steadily growing!
In 1986, the Preschool Department was granted recognition by DECS permit No. P-0066 series 1986. In 1989, the Elementary Department was granted recognition permit No. E-0001 series 1989. In 1993, government recognition was granted to the High School Department by DECS permit No. S-103 series 1993. The school has graduated 18 batches of high school students since. Our average graduate finds no difficulty in getting accepted by the prestigious universities in Metro-Manila. Many of them graduated with honors, some even became topnotchers in their respective board examinations. We are highly esteemed by our clientele due to high passing rank in various tests administered by both local and international institutions.
Because of our rigorous interdisciplinary academic program meshed in the holistic approach, we have begun to make a name in the Filipino community and beyond. We have started to produce young and distinguished citizens in various fields. Upholding the school’s vision, mission and institutional goals, our graduates are spread across the country’s diverse and growing businesses, industries and other ventures. They will surely be a moving force behind the growth of our nation - a testament to MHCS uniqueness and achievements.
